Ceratti is an authentic brand in history, flavor, and processes. There are more than 70 types of delicious cold cuts and premium sausages, developed from traditional Italian recipes, passed down from generation to generation, produced with great care and respect. Ceratti constantly invests in finding solutions to reduce the impact that industrial production generates on nature.
Ceratti, which has valued quality and sustainability throughout its production chain since 1932, approached us to develop a solution that would reduce the thickness of packaging without compromising the food's protection barrier and apply its new visual identity to the packages.
Through Cryovac technologies, Ceratti's new sliced packaging uses 30% less plastic in its composition, when compared to the structures of products in the same category. As a result, in one year, it was possible to reduce plastic consumption by 8.8 tons. With Cryovac Studio, we worked together with our packaging development experts and led, together with Ceratti, the creation of an unprecedented design with the localized application of matte varnish. This innovation allowed Ceratti packaging to have the appearance of kraft paper, referring to the brand's historic artisanal roots.
But we didn't stop there: another great partner was needed to collaborate on this project. To achieve success in packaging composition, SEE® relied on Dupont flexo plate recording technology Dupont® Cyrel® FAST. A solution composed of plates and recording equipment that eliminates the use of solvents in the plate development process, thus delivering quality, productivity, and sustainability.
This solution reduces the potential impact of global warming by up to 38% and the consumption of non-renewable energy by up to 58%. This is Dupont's genuine concern, in leaving the smallest environmental footprint in each step of its processes. All of this resulted in a 44% increase in Ceratti sales in the last 2 years, meeting new consumer habits based on convenience, sophistication, and sustainability.
